CAVE
The CAVE is a dedicated air quality and ventilation lab, located in Dagenham for UCL. CAVE stands for Controlled Active Ventilation Environment, and is a University created test facility, capable of temperature and air movement control from sub zero to 35 degrees Celsius.
The CAVE is a world-first test facility of its kind, designed to replicate air quality and pollution scenarios from a doctors waiting room to a double desk bus. The facility has the ability to create two separate environments enabling users to create external and internal ambient conditions for temperatures ranging from minus 5 to plus 35 Celsius.
The facility has full generator back up and also “borrows” power from the adjacent PV farm on another UCL test facility.
- World-first air quality test facility
- Capable of dual environment temperature control
- Generator back-up
